The Highland Playbook · Phase Two

Connecting the platform to the people.

The foundation is live: 22 team pages, three archive volumes, one design system. Phase two connects the website to the systems, people, and experiences that make Floyd Central Athletics work. Three workstreams, each with an owner and a first move.

Workstream 01

Eventlink integration.

One reliable source of information, fewer manual updates, and a clean experience for athletes, families, coaches, and fans.

01 · Data

Schedules and tickets flow automatically

Today schedules are hand-entered from MaxPreps and the athletic office calendar. Every change is manual, and manual means stale. Eventlink is the system of record; the site should read from it.

What we build once we have access

  • Schedules sync automatically for all 22 programs
  • Ticket buttons deep-link to the correct event, not a homepage
  • Changes in the athletic office appear on the site within minutes
  • Calendar subscribe for families: one link, every game on their phone

What we need from Eventlink

  • Technical contact and documentation
  • iCal or API feed access for FC's own event data
  • The correct ticket deep-link format
  • The written agreement their terms require for a partner working on the school's behalf

The email is drafted and ready to send. Their terms require the school to initiate; the AD sends, Drew executes.

Workstream 02

Ticketing service design.

Not a page. A service. Here is the full journey from "is there a game tonight" to walking through the gate, with the friction we are designing out at every stage.

StageDiscoverDecideBuyHoldEnterReturn
Fan does Checks if there is a game and when Weighs single game vs. season pass Pays on a phone, often the day of Finds the ticket again at the gate Gets scanned and walks in Comes back next week
Today's friction Schedule lives in three places, none authoritative Season pass options are not published anywhere Ticket link goes to a homepage, not the event Screenshot in a camera roll, or a lost email Line at the gate; scanning depends on signal Nothing reminds them the next game exists
What we design One synced schedule, next event surfaced on every page Season ticket page with real math: cost per game Deep link straight to that event's checkout Wallet pass and a "my tickets" link that survives Offline-capable scanning, clear gate signage, staffing plan Opt-in reminders for the teams they follow

Access and participation we design for

  • Student section: cheapest, fastest path, ideally a pass
  • Family and multi-child households: one purchase, several kids' events
  • Senior citizens and staff: published rates, no guessing at the gate
  • Visiting fans: clear directions, parking, and what a ticket costs

What we need to answer

  • Who owns ticketing and scanning today, start to finish?
  • What hardware scans at the gate, and does it work without signal?
  • What are the real season pass prices and who sets them?
  • What does gate staffing look like on a Friday night?
  • What did we sell last season, so we know what growth looks like?
Workstream 03

Social media and sponsorship.

Tell the story of the honor, excellence, and tradition already built here, while showing the growth of the talent, programs, and winning culture.

03 · Story & Revenue

One voice across 22 programs, funded by the community

Already built and waiting

  • The Signal Calendar: 365 days planned, 7 beats a week, 8 pillars
  • Signal Studio: on-brand graphics in seconds, no designer needed
  • The archive: three record books feeding the throwback pillar
  • 112 sponsor emails: tailored per business, real levels written in
  • The master sponsorship menu: department tiers to a $100K floor

What phase two adds

  • Interview series: athletes, coaches, alumni, community
  • Social media training for the student media team
  • Local business spotlights that make sponsorship feel like belonging
  • Renewal loop: quarterly reports so sponsors re-up
  • A regional sponsor package for names bigger than one program

Iron sharpens iron.

The working session

Thirty minutes to unlock all three.

One meeting. Confirm priorities, name owners, and get the access that unblocks everything else.

This is bigger than building a new website. We are creating a connected athletics experience that brings the entire Floyd Central community closer to its teams.
